VP Product (f/m/d)

Permanent employee, Full-time · Hamburg (hybrid), Germany (remote)

OUR PURPOSE AT PLANCRAFT
Building the backbone of European trades together – with AI and voice-first software.
We’re not just building software – we’re on a mission to create space for contractors & tradespeople by equipping them with AI solutions that work the way they do: fast, practical, and voice-first. With Tier 1 Investors from Europe and the US, like Headline and Creandum as well as 20,000+ tradespeople as customer base, we’re scaling across Europe to turn scattered tradespeople into thriving communities. We believe in zero admin, not zero personality – and we build every feature with the people in mind who wear the boots, not the suits. We’re #stoked to shape the future, #together as a team, and #humble in our mission to support the builders of tomorrow.
YOUR MISSION AT PLANCRAFT
As plancraft’s first VP Product, you take on a defining leadership role at a pivotal moment in our journey. You turn strategy into clarity, build the product foundations we will scale on for years, and create the momentum and focus that enable our teams to deliver exceptional work. You guide senior product leaders, shape how our squads operate, and turn high-level beliefs into product experiences that move the company forward. This is a rare opportunity to step in early, shape the DNA of a growing Product organisation, and leave a lasting mark on plancraft’s trajectory — and on the future of how we build category-defining software.

Your Responsibilities

  • Translate plancraft’s product strategy into a focused, actionable set of product initiatives that drive measurable activation, adoption, retention, and commercial impact.
  • Provide strong enablement and leadership to 3 direct reports (Head of PM, Head of UX, Research & Insights Lead) and guide a growing Product organisation of 15+ people — providing people leadership, setting clear expectations, coaching leaders, and creating an environment where PMs, designers, and researchers can do their best work.
  • Collaborate closely with the CPO as your key strategic sparring partner — shaping priorities, aligning on strategic beliefs, and ensuring that high-level direction translates into clear product decisions and effective execution across squads.
  • Build a deeply AI-first product culture by shaping discovery methods, design patterns, squad structures, and decision frameworks around AI-powered workflows that create real user value.
  • Drive multi-market readiness by ensuring localisation, compliance, scalability, and excellent UX across core workflows — creating a product loved by tradespeople in every market.
  • Strengthen alignment between strategy, quarterly objectives, and day-to-day product decisions so squads always understand why their work matters and how it connects to our mission.
  • Partner closely with the VP Engineering to ensure predictable, high-quality execution and to define shared principles for planning, velocity, quality, and accountability across squads.
  • Communicate product progress, learnings, risks, roadmap shifts, and strategic bets clearly across the company, ensuring shared context and transparency at all levels.
  • Enable fast, insight-driven decision-making by ensuring customer signals, research findings, and usage data flow effectively across all squads.
  • Own staffing and capacity planning for the Product organisation so the right people work on the highest-leverage problems — adjusting focus based on strategy, opportunities, or market needs.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with GTM, BizOps, and Expansion to align product decisions with adoption, retention, ARPA, and expansion goals.
  • Champion continuous improvement across Product — raising the bar for innovation speed, delivery discipline, quality, and customer impact quarter after quarter.

  • Execution excellence backed by an effective Product Operating Model — ensuring predictable delivery, high-quality discovery, clear decisions, and impactful shipped outcomes.
  • Proven ability to scale a Product organisation while fostering a strong product culture rooted in discovery, collaboration, motivation, and continuous improvement.

WHY PLANCRAFT?
  • Team Spirit: We’re driven by passion, commitment, and a shared mission. Team spirit matters to us — and we make it visible: with three major team events per year, two casual monthly formats at our Hamburg HQ, and a strong recognition culture where we regularly celebrate both the big and small wins together.
  • Ownership: You’re encouraged to take ownership from day one. In a flat hierarchy and high-trust environment, you’re empowered to make meaningful decisions and drive real impact.
  • Learning & Growth: We invest in your personal and professional development through a strong feedback culture, a personal learning budget, and targeted enablement formats. Our goal is to help you unlock your full potential.
  • AI Enablement: Our internal tools and workflows are AI-enabled by design. We support every team and individual in applying AI at the next level in their daily work, including getting your own ChatGPT+ license, of course.
  • Tech & Tooling: You’ll receive a MacBook, premium over-ear headphones, and everything else you need — from hardware to tools — to be effective in your daily doing.
  • Flexibility: Whether remote, hybrid, or on-site — you work where you’re at your best. Our Hamburg office at Rödingsmarkt (with a rooftop terrace) is always open, and you decide each week how often you come in. Some roles even allow for fully remote setups. And if you need a change of scenery, working abroad is always an option.
  • Recharge: To ensure the needed rest, we offer 30 vacation days per year (based on a 5-day week) and Dec 24th off. We also subsidize your Urban Sports Club membership and organize internal sport meetups.
  • Mobility: You can lease a "JobRad" (Bike) and get a subsidized "Deutschlandticket" or "BahnCard" for public transport to be supported in your commute.
  • International Environment: We’re becoming more international every month, with team members already in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Poland and Austria — which is why English is our internal company language.
