(Senior) Organizational Development Manager (f/m/d)

Permanent employee, Full-time · Hamburg (hybrid), Germany (remote)
62,500 - 77,500 € per year
OUR PURPOSE AT PLANCRAFT
Building the backbone of European trades together – with AI and voice-first software.
We’re not just building software – we’re on a mission to create space for contractors & tradespeople by equipping them with AI solutions that work the way they do: fast, practical, and voice-first. With Tier 1 Investors from Europe and the US, like Headline and Creandum as well as 20,000+ tradespeople as customer base, we’re scaling across Europe to turn scattered tradespeople into thriving communities. We believe in zero admin, not zero personality – and we build every feature with the people in mind who wear the boots, not the suits. We’re #stoked to shape the future, #together as a team, and #humble in our mission to support the builders of tomorrow.
YOUR MISSION AT PLANCRAFT
As a (Senior) Organizational Development Manager, you are a key shaper, sparring partner, and strategic operator for organizational development initiatives that enable plan craft to scale with clarity, effectiveness, and cultural coherence.

In close partnership with the Head of P&O (OD lead), you co-create and translate company strategy, organizational insights, and P&O data into clear, scalable people and org systems. These systems are designed to unlock the full potential of both our organization and our people by creating clarity, effectiveness, and consistency in how we work, lead, and grow. You take strong end-to-end ownership or act as key support for strategy & execution of OD initiatives (depending on your seniority level) — from concept co-creation and rollout planning to stakeholder alignment, tooling setup, enablement, and impact tracking — and collaborate with other People & Business Operations functions and leadership to ensure solutions are embedded in day-to-day reality.

With plancraft currently at 130+ people, operating across 5 European countries, and further growing, this role is pivotal in helping to build the systems, routines, and standards that allow us to grow without losing speed, focus, or cultural strength.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy & execution of organizational development initiatives (e.g. performance, feedback, L&D, total rewards, org design, internal comms) in close collaboration with the Head of P&O.
  • Help to translate strategic direction, org insights, and data into actionable solutions, such as frameworks, processes, templates, enablement materials, and decision artefacts.
  • Coordinate project-based collaboration with People & Business Operations functions and leadership to align requirements and ensure smooth execution.
  • Operationalize and continuously improve core people and org systems by building smart (AI-driven) workflows, practical toolkits, and enabling consistent standards.
  • Plan and run org-wide OD rollouts and enablement, including communications, training formats, documentation, and Q&A — driving adoption and tracking effectiveness.
  • Support org design and workforce planning by maintaining systems, planning artefacts and decision materials that enable leadership clarity and decision readiness.
  • Help to ensure high P&O data quality and deliver structured reporting and insights on progress, adoption, and improvement opportunities.

YOUR PROFILE
Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years in a highly generalistic role (e.g., Founder’s Associate, Chief of Staff, Strategy & Ops with strong P&O touchpoints) or a dedicated OD / HR Strategy / Transformation role with broad exposure.
  • Strong organizational development foundation or equivalent experience in designing, structuring, operationalizing, and scaling org-wide initiatives end to end.
  • Strong process and systems thinking; able to turn strategy, qualitative signals, and data into scalable frameworks, workflows, and enablement that consistently enable the organization.
  • High ownership, strong attention to detail, and a structured, analytical way of working, with pragmatic follow-through in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; comfortable working closely with leadership while staying execution-focused.
  • Hands-on experience with people systems at an admin / builder level.
  • Strong affinity for data, documentation, and tooling (e.g., Notion, Slack, Sheets, AI tools).
  • Motivation to work on high-impact, complex organizational topics with high execution excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing in German & English (C1/C2 level).
  • Experience working in a startup/scale-up/growth-stage environment.
  • If not based in Hamburg, open to come to our Hamburg HQ regularly (minimum 1x/quarter, preferred 1x/month).

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to total rewards, career frameworks, performance systems, or leadership development initiatives at scale.
  • Experience in an organization that has already scaled through a similar growth stage (potentially multi-country/hybrid), ideally in the SaaS space.
  • Admin/builder-level experience in Personio, Leapsome, Notion, and Slack.

Who this Role is for

This role is for a strategic, system-oriented builder who enjoys operating at the intersection of strategy, structure, and execution. You are someone who:
  • has a strong organizational development foundation and thinks in systems rather than isolated initiatives
  • enjoys co-creating concepts with senior stakeholders and taking responsibility for turning them into reality
  • combines structured, analytical thinking with pragmatic execution and stakeholder empathy
  • thrives in a high-trust, high-performance environment with clear ownership and expectations
  • measures success by adoption, clarity, and real behavior change
You are motivated by building foundations that scale — and by seeing your work shape how people lead, collaborate, and perform every day.
WHY PLANCRAFT?
  • Team Spirit: We’re driven by passion, commitment, and a shared mission. Team spirit matters to us — and we make it visible: with four major team event weeks per year, casual monthly on-site and remote formats, and a strong recognition culture where we regularly celebrate both the big and small wins together.
  • Ownership: You’re encouraged to take ownership from day one. In a flat hierarchy and high-trust environment, you’re empowered to make meaningful decisions and drive real impact.
  • Learning & Growth: We invest in your personal and professional development through a strong feedback culture, a personal learning budget, and targeted enablement formats. Our goal is to help you unlock your full potential.
  • AI Enablement: Our internal tools and workflows are AI-enabled by design. We support every team and individual in applying AI at the next level in their daily work, including getting your own ChatGPT+ license, of course.
  • Tech & Tooling: You’ll receive a MacBook, premium headphones, and everything else you need — from hardware to tools — to be effective in your daily doing.
  • Flexibility: Whether Hybrid, or on-site — you work where you’re at your best. Our Hamburg office at Rödingsmarkt (with a rooftop terrace) is always open, and you decide each week how often you come in. And if you need a change of scenery, working abroad worldwide up to 2 months is always an option.
  • Recharge: To ensure the needed rest, we offer 30 vacation days per year (based on a 5-day week) plus Dec 24th off. We also subsidize your Urban Sports Club membership and organize internal sport meetups.
  • Mobility: You can lease a "JobRad" (Bike) and get a subsidized "Deutschlandticket" or "BahnCard" for public transport to be supported in your commute.
  • International Environment: We’re becoming more international every month, with team members already in Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Austria — which is why English is our internal company language.
